Okay, so I’m posting this a few days late: had to catch up on DVR recordings.

My wife and I were very surprised, and quite pleased, to see the song “Shout to the Lord” by Darlene Zschech of Hillsong performed on American Idol by the remaining contestants as a group.

They actually did the song twice, once on their “Idol Gives Back” event (with the word “Shepherd” substituted for “Jesus” and then again on the results show, with the word “Jesus” intact.

Awesome! I don’t watch Idol — not for any reason accept I’m so busy — but I think that this is awesome and that they did a wonderful job!

Hopefully Simon will be converted through this song.

Wow, I had not seen this, although Shout to the Lord is one of my family’s favorites. Hopefully they will all get saved, Simon too!

I was not surprised it was on the giving back episode, but I was a little that it was on a regular one. Not that anything is wrong with the song, it just is not considered “cool” by lots of the viewers out there.

I was able to catch pretty much every episode of Idol this season, but I missed the Idol Gives Back episode. I like that song; they gave a nice performance.

  6. Where was I when this good episode was played on TV? It’s nothing like very cool and everything, but this is a good spiritual songs exalting the lord over a popular TV Show. So glad you are sharing those here, so I know what I am missing.

I wish with this season we could see people standing up and praising God. We have some pretty good talent that has left American Idol, Mandesa who recorded with Toby Mac, Lose my soul is one of my fav’s !

    Thanks for your posts.
