It’s been a while since I gave a Christian podcast or mp3 update. I’m always looking for good audio content, especially since I commute 30-45 minutes each way to work every day. Quality audio definitely makes that drive a lot more enjoyable as well as a lot more productive.
So, what’s in my iPod?
Christian
- Stand to Reason: A radio show from the Los Angeles area concerning Christian apologetics, theology, and culture.
- Ask Pastor John: Q&A with pastor John Piper.
- BreakPoint commentaries: Daily updates regarding politics and culture from a Christian perspective.
Christian To-Listen
I’ve found a lot of other podcasts along the way that I’m interested in enough to subscribe to, but have not had the chance to consistently listen to yet. These include:
- The Dividing Line: Dr. James White is interesting and very intelligent and I agree with most of what he says, but I just can’t seem to listen to him for that long.
- The PleaseConvinceMe.com Podcast: I really, really enjoy this podcast, but it’s unfortunately usually the one I have to prioritize later when a sudden interest comes along. I think that’s probably because, although the information is presented very well, it’s more of a recap of my apologetics training than any new information.
- Christ the Center/Reformed Forum: The titles of the episodes really interest me and I really want to listen, but have not found the time.
- Acts29 Network Podcasts: I listened to what was probably hundreds of hours of this excellent church-planting content and then felt the need to move on to different information. Although I’d like to plant a church, it’s just not the right time right now and I don’t feel like that’s God’s plan for me.
- The Resurgence: Excellent Bible resources.
- Straight Thinking Podcast: Ken Samples was one of my professors at Biola and I can’t wait until I have time to listen.
- White Horse Inn: I’ve listened to a few episodes concerning specific subjects regarding questions I had about Reformed Theology. Based upon those, I’m eager to listen to more.
Secular
- Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips to Better Writing: I’m a grammar geek and like listening to grammar geeks talk about grammar.
- Get-It Done Guy’s Quick and Dirty Tips to Work Less and Do More: I think the name of this is pretty self explanatory. If you’re looking for productivity tips, this weekly podcast can really help.
- Lullabot Podcast: The Lullabot team represents a wealth of Drupal knowledge and listening to their podcast both helps me know what’s going on in the development community and gives me some site ideas.
- The Ruby Show: I also like to stay current with the Ruby and Rails communities. This podcast helps me to do that.
- Ruby5: The other Ruby podcast that I listen to. At one time, one of the guys from this podcast had another podcast with one of the guys from The Ruby Show called “Rails Envy.”
