Biola hires new President

Biola University has announced a final candidate for its president, Dr. Barry H. Corey. Details of this can be found at Biola’s Web site.

As a former attendee of an Assemblies of God church I can’t help but wonder if this decision is a good fit for Biola, but do have full faith in the Presidential Search Team, which was chaired by one of my Biola classmates, Stan Jantz.

    I am a student at Talbot and I finished my BA degree at Biola in 2003. I just wanted to reply to your comment about how you wondered whether Dr. Corey, with is Assemblies of God background would be a ‘good fit’ with Biola. I would have to say that it is a good fit. God has been moving on this campus in the past few years and in a very great way this past year. I can tell you that I have seen God opening up this campus to the realities of His Spirit. While there are some AoG beliefs that are not in line with Biola’s doctrinal statement, we have been assured that Dr. Corey does not hold to those beliefs.
