New Blog Software?

[?]

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Wordpress is neat, but it feels a bit bloated and since I’m learning Rails, it makes sense to move to a blog engine built on that.

What do you think? Should I keep Wordpress, or move to Mephisto or Typo?

Also, is it just me or is this blog loaded with too many ads? I really had not been visiting much until recently and my first reaction was, “What was I thinking?” :)

Ads? Maybe a few too many in the individual posts, but the blog looks fine. As for the software, I say go with whatever works best for you. Do the others have import scripts? Also, you might try upgrading to the latest wordpress. It’s got some nice new features that make things more simple (like automated updates to plugins).

I think the ad across the middle, the one line google adsense ad, looks really odd on short posts. I love wordpress by the way, I wouldn’t change for the world.

First off all, you must always use the lastest version of Wordpress. Wordpress has really useful plugins for SEO. By the way, classics are always the best choice :)

Personaly I would stick with wordpress due to the fact that it has a lot of support so if you have problems it is very easy to find solutions.

Ill give an example, my godaddy hosting was conflicting with wp-cache plugin, i have no knowldge of html and would not have been able to fix this but someone had recoded the pluin already and this as helped me. It would have taken me forever to fix something like this

i don’t think that any other blogging software is as much good as Wordpress is and i have also seen that Google likes Wordpress more than any other kind of website. so i think that it will be nice t keep wordpress.
